Welcome Back!
I am so excited to be starting a new school year here at Cummings. Welcome to third grade! My goals for this year are to create a classroom that is comfortable and inviting to every child, encourages creativity and open minds, and challenges every child to excel. I know each student and his or her family will do their best to support these goals.
Cummings
Doors open at 8:45 for students eating breakfast at school. Otherwise, students are allowed to enter the building at 9:00 and the school day officially starts at 9:15. Students often have work to complete in the morning. We have busy days and do not want you to miss anything so please try to be on time.
Supplies
These are the essential supplies we will be using in class this year. All supplies will be shared except backpacks & pencil boxes. Pencils, scissors, erasers, wide-ruled paper, pencil box, glue sticks, markers, crayons or colored pencils, single subject spiral notebook (wide rule), 2 pocket portfolio, and a backpack. Optional items include Kleenex, baby wipes, and composition book.
Please make sure your child’s name is on their backpack, lunch bag, and pencil box.

School-Wide Folders
Please carefully read the parent letter and handbook. It explains the homework folders and messenger folders. Both are new this year.
Parent Homework
Please look through your child’s folder and bag. There are a number of papers to be read and filled out this week. Please return them as soon as possible. Thanks!
